Carol Burke, MSN, APRN, RNC-OB, C-EFM
Carol Burke is a post-masters Advanced Practice Professional Registered Nurse specializing in women and newborn health. She holds a certificate in nurse midwifery and nursing administration. With over 40 years of extensive clinical, administrative and educational experiences, her borad background spans both low-risk and high-risk culturallly diverse perinatal populations.
Carol is a published author in both peer- reviewed nursing and medical publications. She has presented at national conferences and is a locally well-known speaker on numerous perinatal topics. An expert in fetal monitoring, Carol led a steering committee to achieve multidisciplinary fetal monitoring education with in the Advocate Healthcare System.
A dynamic educator, Carol has mentored over 400 nurses through the process of inpatient obstetric, maternal newborn and fetal monitoring certification. With over 27 years as a member of AWHONN, she served as Illinois Secretary-Treasurer and a member of the 2012-2014 Board of Directors. She is also a peer reviewer for AWHONN publications including webinars, POEP and evidence based publications.
